Hi AnnMarie, It is fantastic! I love using it in lessons and I've found it is suitable for many different age groups. Yes I also feel that it would work well with EAL students as it allows them to express themselves through a form of play, which is something they may be more familar with, instead of through writing. It uses many tools which are very easy to use, almost like using a universal language, so all can understand and use Kodu. It would be brilliant if you could let me know how you get on with it! Thanks Emma

Hi Rebecca, I'm glad you enjoyed reading it! Yes for me the OLE route is the way forward, although its possibly not whats going to happen in the future, it gives us so much more control over the learning taking place now. I enjoyed using moonfruit.com for the front page of the OLE and then using Google Docs as it can then be adjusted and designed for easy accesiblity, whilst being suited to the purpose of use for the class and school overall! I hope all goes well with what you are trying in school. Let me know how you get on with your OLE =) Emma!

Hi Emma, a great read. Me and my colleagues are just deciding whether to go down the VLE / OLE route and I also think OLE is the way forward. I have been trialling Edmodo, a free VLE. working well with juniors but not as accessible for infants. Look forward to reading more of your posts!

I have to say I envy you. I bought myself a Ukulele on the 22nd of December as something had been nagging me for some time that I really need to learn an instrument. Being 52 for another month made it a bit of an urgency for me.
So having never so much as picked up an instrument in my life, Looked at a piece of music up close, It has all become a bit over whelming.
I am using the internet to learn. When I think I have one part down and start reading on only to blow me out of the water when I try to get another part of what I have learned to go together with what I had originally learned. So here I sit some 16 chords, 4-5 strumming patterns later and feel that I am no farther ahead than I was before I took it out of the box.
I am determined not to let my cherished Uke beat me.
I am ever so happy when I hear people say that they have learned to do this and that, just don't understand what I am doing wrong.
Happy strumming to you. I am going to follow you for a bit, love to hear about the progressions that you make on your musical journey. Other peoples success makes me feel happy!!

I should note, too that yes, you can upload levels, and then download them to other systems. You can also share levels through USB drives and such, but requires you to find the levels. Finally, you can actually print out the "Kodu Code", which shows instructions for the characters. One great exercise would be to "share" code, and ask kids to imagine what happens when the code executes.

In any event, possibilities are endless, and looking forward to other ways in watching Kodu being used in the classroom!
